Pretty bold claim, but it’s true. I’ve been photographing seniors for years and I feel like I have visited every single park in Medina County with my camera (or at least really close to every park) and I will say it time and time again, Brunswick Lake Park is the BEST!
Before you start reading, I just have to warn you that there are a LOT of photos in this blog. I discovered the park about 2 years ago, so I have all four seasons full of photos to share in here.
Without further ado!
At Brunswick Lake Park, I typically start my sessions by meeting at the back of the Panera Bread parking lot. It’s a convenient spot, as it’s easier to locate with a GPS compared to the nearby Cleveland Clinic employee parking lot (which has designated Medina County Park parking spots in the back).

When you pull in, you’ll see my favorite bridge, and from there, a walking path leads through the woods to a beautiful view of the water. It’s such a peaceful and scenic place to start! Let’s start with photos taken on the bridge….
Brunswick Lake Park can get quite busy on the weekends, which is why I recommend scheduling photos there Monday through Thursday for a better experience. Sometimes we might have to pause for a few seconds to let walkers cross the bridge, but the wait is always worth it for the beautiful backdrop it provides!
No offense to the Buckeye Woods bridge, but Brunswick Lake definitely has the better bridge in my opinion! It’s much bigger than any other parks in the area, and the gentle curvature allows for several different angles which is perfect for senior photos. Depending on which end you’re standing on, you’ll get lush greenery in the summer, and even some flowers and goldenrod pop up near the bridge, adding to the natural beauty of the scene in the late summer/fall.
Just a short walk from the bridge, you’ll get a beautiful view of the water through a path in the woods. It’s not far at all—literally just steps from the parking lot—so it offers a totally different scene that’s super close by. This makes it incredibly convenient, especially in the winter when we don’t want to walk too far in the cold. It’s great to have such distinct spots within a short distance to really mix up your senior session!
Just steps down the pathway is this gorgeous view of the water. You can get from the bridge to this spot in under a minute, easily! While it takes about 20 minutes to really capture the best of both scenes, if you’re looking to book a shorter session, I can still guarantee a variety of beautiful shots between these three locations alone. That’s one of the reasons I think Brunswick Lake is better than any other park in the district—it offers so much in such a short distance!
Next up, pathway photos! This area features a small hill that leads directly to the parking lot, which is perfect for chilly weather or as a quick outfit change spot since it’s so close. The best part? The sunsets here are absolutely stunning, creating the perfect golden-hour glow to wrap up the session.
This next part is the furthest distance-wise, but it’s worth the walk if you’re outdoorsy! There’s a log cabin, officially called the Susan Hambley Nature Center, connected to the walking path. It has a small parking lot, so sometimes we hop in the car and drive over to save a few minutes. It also provides a nice break for an outfit change or to warm up during fall sessions.
One of my favorite spots for evening sunlight!!!
Right behind the nature center is the entrance to the woods. So many beautiful opportunities inside!
Once you’re in the woods, you can keep exploring to find the perfect log to sit on or even stumble upon a small bridge deeper inside. But if you only venture in for a minute or two, there’s a pathway that leads you to the next bridge—just a short walk in, and you’re there! It’s another great spot to capture something different while still being close to the main areas.
This bridge is a straight shot across the water. Beautiful views, although many more possibilities on the first bridge. This one does offer a nicer view of the water though!
Across the bridge, you’ll find a winding pathway that leads to a stunning view! It features a touch of water, though it doesn’t offer the grand lake view just yet. Along this path, I love to capture close-ups against the trees, adding a natural and intimate feel to the photos.
And now…if you have stuck around scrolling through my hundreds of photos from Brunswick Lake, we’ve finally made it to the stunning and grand view of the water!
Now, for my personal favorite part of Brunswick Lake: the wildflowers! Starting in June, they blanket the small hill leading to the lake, and believe it or not, this spot is right next to Giant Eagle Brunswick. I say that jokingly, but it’s true—some of my all-time favorite photos have been taken with my seniors looking out at Giant Eagle. In the fall, the scene transforms into a sea of yellow as it turns into goldenrod. Anyway, here are some of my favorite shots!
And finally, if you still aren’t convinced that Brunswick Lake is the best spot for photos in Medina County here are some of my personal favorite moments that are framed in my living room! Photo credits to my amazing assistant Neca!
