Some photoshoots are all about timing, and Sophia’s was no exception! Ever since she shared her dream of becoming a meteorologist, we knew we had to plan something special. She wanted a senior session that celebrated her love of weather, so we set our sights on a rainy day shoot at Brunswick Lake. While the skies had other plans, the results were still nothing short of magical.

Just as we arrived, the rain started to clear, and the storm clouds began to drift. At first, we were bummed that the downpour didn’t stick around, but then the real creativity began. The freshly soaked trees were still dripping, the skies remained moody and dramatic, and the lake glistened with that dreamy post-rain shimmer. It may not have been a full rainstorm, but we leaned into the illusion and captured the vibe Sophia had envisioned.

Sophia wore a long, flowy floral dress that moved beautifully with the breeze and water. She stepped barefoot into the lake, under a tree with rain-kissed branches, into the open water for wide scenic shots, and even toward the horizon where a soft rainbow peeked through the clouds. The entire shoot felt peaceful, powerful, and totally her.

This session was such a perfect reflection of who Sophia is: passionate, bold, and willing to go all in to chase a vision. Even without pouring rain, she brought the forecast to life in her own way, and we’re so glad we got to capture it.
